\nPHOENIX (3TV\/CBS 5) – A Phoenix man prevented a situation from getting worse when he forced an intruder to lie down at gunpoint, according to court documents.<\/p>\n

Police said right after Aaron Ayala left his apartment, 38-year-old Francisco Antonio Armendariz “aggressively” knocked on his door with his girlfriend still inside the apartment. She looked through the peephole and saw Armendariz pacing back and forth on the third-floor landing.<\/p>\n

That’s when the woman went back to her bedroom, locked the door and called her Ayala.<\/p>\n

“Someone was in the house. I remember hanging up and ran straight over there,” Ayala told Arizona’s Family.<\/p>\n

He then came back to the apartment and saw Armendariz opened the front door. He then drew his handgun and told Armendariz to lie down on the ground, court documents say.<\/p>\n

“He took a step where he was prepared to do something. But once he got (close to the gun)… he completely shut down,” said Ayala.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

NCPD: Man shot at 2 men he believed were trying to rob him<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nNORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCIV) \u2014 Police have released new details about a shooting Tuesday, May 13, at an apartment complex in North Charleston.<\/p>\n

A 22-year-old resident of the Atlantic Palms Apartments told police he shot his pistol at two men who he believed were attempting to rob him, according to a newly released incident report.<\/p>\n

After hearing an \u201cunusual\u201d knock on his door, North Charleston Police say the apartment tenant told them he opened his door to find two men standing outside, one holding a rifle. Police say the tenant claimed one of the two men then pushed him to the floor of his apartment.<\/p>\n

The apartment resident, who was armed with a pistol of his own, pulled his gun and fired several shots at the two men in self-defense, police say. The two men then ran away from the apartment.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Man fires back after being shot in his backyard, police in search of suspects<\/strong><\/p>\n

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) \u2014 A man says he fought back after someone shot him in his backyard in Nashville.<\/p>\n

Wednesday night, a woman flagged down some officers with the Juvenile Task Force out on patrol and told them someone shot had her husband.<\/p>\n

Police say the victim was in the backyard of his home on Crowe Drive when two men walked up to him and shot him in the stomach.<\/p>\n

The victim then pulled out a gun of his own and began firing but the gunmen got away. Police are still unsure if the victim hit either during the gunfire.<\/p>\n

The victim was taken to the hospital with serious injuries but he is expected to survive.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
