{"id":87085,"date":"2019-05-17T06:00:49","date_gmt":"2019-05-17T10:00:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/valorguardians.com\/blog\/?p=87085"},"modified":"2019-05-17T16:40:09","modified_gmt":"2019-05-17T20:40:09","slug":"87085","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/?p=87085","title":{"rendered":"Friday Feel Good Stories"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/G17_Gen5-LG-e1558044355979.jpg\" alt=\"Glock 17 Gen 5\" \/><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/us.glock.com\/en\/pistols\/g17-gen5\">Glock 17 Gen 5<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>County jury acquits man of murder in 2018 Shawnee shooting<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>By Kim Morava<br \/>\nA Shawnee man jailed since August was released from custody Wednesday after a Pottawatomie County jury deliberated 22 minutes and returned a not guilty verdict in a second-degree murder trial.<\/p>\n<p>Wayne Eric Dyke, 21, claimed self-defense in the shooting and was acquitted on the third day of the trial.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re thrilled with the verdict,\u201d Defense Attorney Cregg Webb said. \u201cWe think the jury got it right.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Webb said Dyke is ready to look for employment and make the most of his second chance at life.<\/p>\n<p>Dyke was originally charged in Pottawatomie County District Court back in September with first-degree murder, deliberate intent, in the August 2018 shooting death of Mark Anthony Little, 38.<\/p>\n<p>At about 7:15 p.m. on Aug. 27, 2018, Shawnee police officers responded to a shooting in the area of Broadway and Dewey Streets. Police working the case later identified Dyke as the shooting suspect from videos on home surveillance cameras in that area, with videos being part of the evidence presented at trial. A teen&#8217;s head was grazed by a bullet and a man was shot in the leg. The shooting happened in a neighborhood on Stonehenge Drive, off Westerville Road. <\/p>\n<p>Police said the teen was found in the neighborhood, the other man who was shot, 21-year-old Adbulrahman A. Jamea, was found at a gas station on Morse Road. Police say Jamea was accused of shooting the teen and was shot in the leg as an act of self defense.<\/p>\n<p>An 18-year-old woman, Saham M. He was jailed on bonds totaling $10,000.<\/p>\n<p>Officers were dispatched to the address after reports of multiple shots fired in the area.<\/p>\n<p>When they arrived, a woman told them her daughter\u2019s boyfriend, identified as Brown, fired a shot into her 2014 Dodge Charger after a physical altercation, according to Lt. Je\u2019Michael Bonner.<\/p>\n<p>It started when she asked him to leave the home, she told police. They argued and the physical altercation followed. The woman told police Brown slapped her multiple times and tried to choke her. When she got away from him and went to a bedroom to get her gun, he left.<\/p>\n<p>She followed him outside, and she said Brown fired a shot into the car. She said she fired a shot in the air to try to get him to leave.
