Father shoots, kills home intruder in Lancaster<\/strong>
\nA man was fatally shot after allegedly breaking into a Lancaster home.<\/em><\/p>\n

LANCASTER, Calif. (KABC) — A man was fatally shot after allegedly breaking into a Lancaster home on Sunday.<\/p>\n

The shooting happened around 6:45 a.m. in the 45100 block of Loma Vista Drive.<\/p>\n

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s detectives say the man got into the home through one of the downstairs rear windows and walked into an upstairs bedroom.<\/p>\n

That’s when the homeowner who feared for the safety of himself and his children grabbed a gun and fired a shot, which struck the suspect in the upper torso, according to authorities.<\/p>\n

The family inside the home at the time was not injured.<\/p>\n

It appears the same suspect may have tried to break into other homes in the neighborhood first. Doorbell video from one home shows the man on a front porch trying to enter.<\/p>\n

Residents of the neighborhood are feeling on edge about their own safety after the incident and say they believe their neighbor was justified in the shooting. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Sheriff: 2 people shot to death in Hesperia home as they assaulted owner <\/strong>

Two people were shot to death in a Hesperia residence as they assaulted the elderly homeowner, the San Bernardino County Sheriff\u2019s Department said.<\/p>\n

No one was immediately arrested in the slayings, which happened Thursday, May 9 in the 17000 block of Adobe Street. The Sheriff\u2019s Department said it would submit a report to the District Attorney\u2019s Office for consideration of charges.<\/p>\n

About 3:30 a.m., the homeowner called out for help, and another resident came to his aid.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Store clerk derails would-be Lexington robbery, fires shot at suspect<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nLEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) \u2013 Lexington police are looking for a suspect after shots were fired in an attempted robbery at a gas station early Sunday morning.

Police say it happened around 12:30 a.m. at the Minit-Mart on Towne Center Drive.<\/p>\n

According to officers, a man in a blue zip-up sweatshirt and black pants came into the convenient store demanding cash.<\/p>\n

When he started to come around the counter, however, police say the store clerk reacted, pulling out a handgun and firing a shot at the would-be robber. <\/p>\n

The shooting left a bullet hole in the building’s door.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
