No surprise, this has been in the works for some time. Sharp looking uniforms, even if they do make me feel I’m watching ’12 O’Clock High’ reruns. I’ve heard mostly positive opinions on the change, so I thought I’d bring it before the harshest critics I can find.<\/p>\n

\nThe U.S. Army is planning to roll out new uniforms, which look very similar to ones members have worn in the past.<\/p>\nA spokesperson for the Army told FOX Business that the look \u2013 which was worn by soldiers in World War II and the Korean War \u2013 is \u201cone of the most admired and recognizable\u201d in the service\u2019s history.<\/p>\n
\n(U.S. Army Photo by Timothy M. Ahearn)<\/p>\n\u201cThe reintroduction of this uniform is meant to inspire trust and confidence in our soldiers’ professionalism and readiness,\u201d Heather J. Hagan told FOX Business.<\/p>\n
Hagan told FOX Business, however, that the new uniform will have no additional cost for either the American taxpayer or enlisted soldiers. The higher quality uniforms are expected to last for a \u201clonger service life\u201d and the Army will be phasing them in over a longer period for costs to remain neutral.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
While I was in the Navy we went through three or four major uniform changes, each a bigger PITA than the one before, which is why I was generally in a flight suit. Looks like the Army is doing this the right way.
