\nContra Costa County prosecutors have declined to file criminal charges against a man for a fatal shooting in Pittsburg last week, saying that the death may have been a result of self-defense.<\/p>\n

Samijela Vehikite, 36, was shot and killed at a tire shop in the 1500 block of Willow Pass Road around 10 a.m. on April 22.<\/p>\n

Emergency crews found Vehikite suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and transported him to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek but he did not survive.<\/p>\n

Police said Bay Point resident Jason Posey was arrested on suspicion of shooting Vehikite. Posey was taken into custody while allegedly trying to flee the scene.<\/p>\n

The two men knew each other, and Vehikite had been at the scene to confront Posey about some sort of prior dispute. The men argued for several minutes before the shooting, according to investigators. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Man with concealed weapons permit holds at gunpoint suspect who grabbed mail carrier<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nA man who claimed to be playing a prank on a U.S. Postal Service worker was held at gunpoint by a bystander with a concealed weapons permit in west Modesto on Wednesday afternoon.<\/p>\n

The postal worker was delivering mail on Shaddox Avenue, northwest of Woodland Avenue and Carpenter Road, at about 12:40 p.m. when the man came up behind her and grabbed her arm, said Modesto Police Department spokeswoman Sharon Bear.<\/p>\n

Bear said the woman screamed and the man ran off. However, a witness, who had the concealed weapons permit, pointed his gun at the suspect and told him to stop.<\/p>\n

Bear said the suspect complied, staying put until officers arrived.<\/p>\n

The suspect told officers he was jogging in the area and decided to play a prank on the postal worker and didn\u2019t intend to hurt her.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\nAfter a woman shot and killed a man that was sexually assaulting her and a friend on the Sierra Street bridge on April 20, the Reno Police Department has determined she was justified in her actions. <\/p>\n

Reno investigators determined that in the early-morning hours of Saturday, April 20, 29-year-old Josue Oconitrillo approached two women walking across the Sierra Street bridge and attempted to sexually assault one of the women. <\/p>\n

The women fought back and one of them drew a firearm, demanding he stop the attack. <\/p>\n

Oconitrillo continued the assault and the woman shot him in the upper torso. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n
