Gilbert\/Marine Corps)<\/h5>\n<p>The largest deployment of U.S. Marines to Australia is underway.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.marinecorpstimes.com\/news\/your-marine-corps\/2019\/04\/18\/largest-rotation-of-marines-to-arrive-in-australia\/\">About 1,700 Marines<\/a>\u00a0began arriving in Darwin, Australia, in April for training and exercises, and their ranks are expected to grow to 2,500 by the time their stay ends in October.<\/p>\n<p>And despite being in its eighth iteration of Marine Rotational Force\u2013Darwin \u2014 not to mention speaking the same language \u2014 Australian troops have been ordered to avoid using slang around American counterparts.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cImagine an American asking an Aussie soldier if they can see the enemy approaching and they respond with the classic local phrase of \u2018nah, yeah\u2019.
