A couple came up with a plan to try to get their friend out of jail. The plan called for them to go to the jail where he was located at, then claim to be new detectives. They would use those credentials to get their friend out of jail.<\/p>\n

Just talk to the folks at the jail, let them know who you are, and they’ll let you waltz right in, get your buddy, then waltz right back out. Sound like a good plan? The fact that you’re reading it here shows that their plan didn’t work.<\/p>\n

False Personation of a Law Enforcement Officer Arrest<\/p>\n

Two DeSoto County residents Francine Olson and Brandon Reyes were arrested last night for impersonating a law enforcement officer. The two, after telling DCSO dispatchers they were new detectives, attempted to gain access to DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office vehicles and were using the jail entrance intercom to communicate with staff. This was in an attempt to get “their partner” George Chanza out of jail. Chanza was recently arrested on an outstanding warrant on 4\/26\/2019.<\/p>\n

The two have since been reunited with their partner<\/strong><\/span> and are now facing third degree felony charges for False Personation of a Law Enforcement Officer.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

It makes one wonder what was going on in their minds, and why they thought this would work. Could alcohol and\/or drugs been involved? Or, did they honestly have thought that they could get away with this?<\/p>\n
