Here\u2019s another lunatic conspiracy charge from the famed buffoon Seymour Hersh<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Investigative reporter Seymour Hersh dropped a bombshell on Tuesday when he told an audience at the University of Minnesota that the military was running an “executive assassination ring” throughout the Bush years which reported directly to former Vice President Dick Cheney.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

If Dick had an assassination ring why was he shooting lawyers in the face with birdshot? (Other than that he was a lawyer and probably needed shooting)<\/p>\n

So, tell us more Mr. Hersh. Who are these assassins?<\/p>\n

Hersh replied, “After 9\/11, I haven\u2019t written about this yet, but the Central Intelligence Agency was very deeply involved in domestic activities against people they thought to be enemies of the state. Without any legal authority for it. They haven\u2019t been called on it yet.”<\/p>\n

Hersh then went on to describe a second area of extra-legal operations: the Joint Special Operations Command. “It is a special wing of our special operations community that is set up independently,” he explained. “They do not report to anybody, except in the Bush-Cheney days, they reported directly to the Cheney office. … Congress has no oversight of it.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Wow, I bet that would be news to LTG Stan McChrystal who commanded this assassin cabal for most of the Bush-Cheney years!<\/p>\n

First Seymour, JSOC is not an independent Cheney kill squad. They are subordinate to Special Operations Command and they get more Congressional oversight than they want or need.<\/p>\n

Of course Hersh isn\u2019t the first \u201cjournalist\u201d who got their panties in a wad over JSOC. In a June 2006 Newsweek article JSOC was described thusly:<\/p>\n

June 26, 2006 issue – No one would have mentioned his name at all if President George W. Bush hadn’t singled him out in public. Lt. Gen. Stanley McChrystal, West Point ’76, is not someone the Army likes to talk about. He isn’t even listed in the directory at Fort Bragg, N.C., his home base. That’s not because McChrystal has done anything wrong\u2014quite the contrary, he’s one of the Army’s rising stars\u2014but because he runs the most secretive force in the U.S. military. That is the Joint Special Operations Command, the snake-eating, slit-their-throats “black ops” guys who captured Saddam Hussein and targeted Abu Mussab al-Zarqawi. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Of course Hersh wasn\u2019t about to stop at simple hyperbole like \u201cslit-their-throats “black ops” guys\u201d. Oh no, he had to go full \u201cblack helicopter\u201d conspiracy on us.<\/p>\n

“It\u2019s an executive assassination ring essentially, and it\u2019s been going on and on and on,” Hersh stated. “Under President Bush\u2019s authority, they\u2019ve been going into countries, not talking to the ambassador or the CIA station chief, and finding people on a list and executing them and leaving. That\u2019s been going on, in the name of all of us.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

That\u2019s pretty scary shit there Seymour \u2026 but it does beg a simple question.<\/p>\n

If Bush and Cheney had total control of \u201can executive assassination ring\u201d; why didn\u2019t they ventilate you and dozens of other \u201cjournalist\u201d pains in their collective ass a long time ago?<\/p>\n
