Davis initially fled the scene before officers arrived, but later returned during the investigation around 11 p.m. and assaulted his mom again. After he got away once more, the doors to the home were locked.<\/p>\n<p>According to authorities, Davis attempted to enter the home a third time, but as he tried to come in through a bedroom window, he was shot once in the chest. Gottfried<br \/>\nA St. Paul homeowner shot and wounded a man after police say he fled into his yard after crashing a stolen car on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Paramedics took the man to Regions Hospital with non-life threatening injuries after the shooting in the Payne-Phalen area.<\/p>\n<p>The homeowner, who police said is cooperating with the investigation, was taken to department headquarters for questioning about what led to the shooting. He was not under arrest.<\/p>\n<p>A sign visible in the home\u2019s front window reads, \u201cNo Trespassing,\u201d and \u201cViolators will be shot.
