Indy woman shoots man, claims self-defense<\/strong><\/p>\n INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. \u2014 A 30-year-old man is in critical condition after being shot by a woman who claimed to be acting in self-defense.<\/p>\n According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, the shooting happened just before 1 a.m. Saturday in the 2700 block of Caroline Avenue, located on Indianapolis\u2019s near northeast side.<\/p>\n Police said the incident is being investigated as a possible self-defense shooting, which stemmed from an alleged domestic dispute. The woman reportedly told police she was in fear for her life when she shot the man. She claims he had pointed a handgun at her during an argument, which prompted her to draw a gun of her own.<\/p>\n The man was transported to the hospital with at least one gunshot wound.
