Both The Levisa Lazer.com<\/a> and WSAZ News Channel 3<\/a> report that Douglas Snow posed as a veteran and claimed to help other veterans.<\/p>\n

Douglas Grant Snow, or sometimes Douglas C. Snow, will be 64 years old this month and lives in Dunbar, WV.<\/p>\n

A man is behind bars accused of posing as a veteran — selling hats claiming the proceeds would go towards helping other vets.<\/p>\n

West Virginia State Police say Douglas Snow, 64, was selling the hats outside of a Walmart in Wayne County.<\/p>\n

Troopers say he had claimed he was a part of an organization called “Help our Vets” and that he showed Troopers a document saying the organization was legit.<\/p>\n

Troopers say the document had a forged signature of the Secretary of State.<\/p>\n

Snow is charged with obtaining goods by false pretenses & forgery.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Well, that’s one way to do it.<\/p>\n

Since neither article specified what military service Snow was claiming, this was accounted for when filing the FOIA request.\u00a0 The result was that they were unsuccessful in finding a military record on Douglas Snow…<\/p>\n

I wonder what tipped them off?\u00a0 \u00a0 Maybe it was that forged signature of the Secretary of State?<\/p>\n

An interesting observation – although the\u00a0WSAZ News Channel 3<\/a>\u00a0article leads with the words “STOLEN VALOR,” Snow will likely be tried under forgery charges vs. stolen valor, but I could be wrong.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
