Based on the descriptions from those who knew him, he had a passion for doing things that made other people&#8217;s lives better.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">From Stars &amp; Stripes:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>A married father of a 15-year-old son, Lewis planned to start a business or charity and build a home in Africa after retiring from the military, family said. He had made several trips to the country, they said.<\/p>\n<p>He had joined the Army as an enlisted soldier and later earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees, his father Rodney Lewis said. \u201cHe was also stationed in South Korea, he was a military man, he loved it, he was moving up through the military.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The soldier\u2019s wife, Yalena Lopez \u2014 also an Afghanistan veteran \u2014 told the local station she was still in disbelief, calling her husband a loving man who was trying to become a better version of himself each day.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>You can read more, including his sister&#8217;s complements about him, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stripes.com\/us-army-captain-among-eight-americans-killed-in-ethiopian-airlines-crash-1.572241\">here<\/a>.
