Woman likely shot and killed man in self-defense, Newport News police say<\/strong><\/p>\n By Peter Dujardin The 61-year-old woman shot the man during a dispute inside the 55th Street home at about 2 p.m., Newport News police spokesman Brandon Maynard said following an initial police investigation. Deputies say Woodworth had one stab wound in his chest and died on scene.<\/p>\n After the incident, police believed the 18-year-old involved would not be charged, but the case was handed off to the Coos County District Attorney\u2019s Office.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n 1 \/ 0 \/ 0 Murray homeowner fatally shoots intruder<\/strong><\/p>\n MURRAY, Utah (AP) \u2014 Police in Murray are investigating after they say a homeowner shot and killed an intruder.<\/p>\n Authorities on Monday identified the slain intruder as Andrew W. Miller.<\/p>\n According to investigators, Miller entered the home just before 7 p.m. Sunday through a sliding glass door.<\/p>\n Police spokesman Kenny Bass says there was damage indicating Miller forced entry into the property.<\/p>\n Upon encountering Miller, the homeowner shot him.
