\u201cOfficer.\u00a0 My 11-year-old stole a toy from a store last week.\u00a0It\u2019s the third time he\u2019s done it.\u00a0Can you yell at him and threaten to arrest him?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Yes, mom.\u00a0 That\u2019s a great idea.\u00a0 Make him hate cops because you\u2019ve done a lousy job of parenting him.<\/p>\n

What the hell is going on with this world?<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve got a few little boys.\u00a0They don\u2019t steal shit.\u00a0 You want to know why?<\/p>\n

Because they know that if they do, daddy\u2019s going to whoop their little asses from Montana all the way to grandma\u2019s house in Maine if they do.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m not sure when parents got so lousy at parenting.\u00a0 But let me tell you something.\u00a0 It\u2019s creating a nightmare for police officers.<\/p>\n

Sense of Entitlement<\/strong><\/p>\n

Kids these days have a sense of entitlement.\u00a0 I swear to God, if one more 20-something-year-old that I pull over tries to tell me that he pays my salary, I\u2019m lose my mind.\u00a0 No, you don\u2019t pay my salary.\u00a0 Daddy bought your BMW and you\u2019ve never worked a day in your life.<\/p>\n

My parents instilled in me a sense of respect for others, especially my elders.<\/p>\n

\u201cYes, ma\u2019am.\u201d\u00a0 \u201cNo, sir.\u201d\u00a0 (In fairness, that was back when we still recognized the biological difference between a man and a woman.)<\/p>\n

\u201cYes, officer.\u00a0 I\u2019m sorry I was an idiot.\u201d\u00a0 (Idiot is now apparently a bullying work that triggers people and hurts their feelings.)<\/p>\n

Mothers taught their girls how to braid their hair and fathers taught their boys to be men.\u00a0Now, fathers teach their boys to braid their hair and mothers teach their girls that manliness is toxic.<\/p>\n

This sense of entitlement can be directly attributed to helicopter parents and the pussification of America.\u00a0$15 an hour minimum wage?\u00a0 How about\u2026 \u201cfor your first job cooking fries, you get what I freaking give you and say \u2018thank you\u2019\u201d.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Nobody wants to work anymore.\u00a0 They want to demand free college (hint: nothing in life is free).\u00a0 They want open borders and then they want to complain that there are no jobs.<\/p>\n

So yes, mom and dad, your spoiled brat kid has a sense of entitlement and it\u2019s your fault.<\/p>\n

Right Vs. Wrong<\/strong><\/p>\n

I pulled over this 18-year-old last week.\u00a0 She was going 48 in a 30, make a right on red despite the two signs that said \u201cno right on red\u201d, was tailgating the guy in front of her and then blew a light.\u00a0 All in a half mile or so.<\/p>\n

When I asked her if she knew why I pulled her over, she responded: \u201cIDK, because you wanted to make me late for work?\u201d<\/p>\n

When I went through everything she did wrong, her response was: \u201cPlease.\u00a0 Nobody got hurt.\u00a0 I don\u2019t know what the big deal is.\u201d<\/p>\n

Growing up, we were taught the difference between right and wrong.\u00a0 (During the days where good and evil were crystal clear and the moral fabric of America wasn\u2019t being destroyed.)<\/p>\n

You steal stuff?\u00a0 That\u2019s bad.\u00a0 You help someone out?\u00a0 That\u2019s good.<\/p>\n

But how do we instill a sense of right and wrong in our children when the family structure has been destroyed?\u00a0When fathers are in the lives of their children?<\/p>\n

How do we teach them about obeying the law when the very politicians being elected to lead this great country are defying it?\u00a0 When entire states are declaring that the law doesn\u2019t apply anymore?\u00a0 When you have people running for office who can nuke an entire email server, lie about it, and still win the popular vote?<\/p>\n

How do we teach kids that police are here to protect them, but then glorify football players and overpaid celebrities who take a knee to declare that police are bad guys?<\/p>\n

How do we encourage our children go into a life of law enforcement when every day they see attacks on the very police we are encouraging them to follow in the footsteps of?<\/p>\n

Everyone Is A Victim<\/strong><\/p>\n

Let me tell you something.\u00a0When you\u2019re going 110 in a 55 and have dark tinted windows, I don\u2019t know what you look like.<\/p>\n

So when you play the, \u201cyou pulled me over \u2018cause I\u2019m black\u201d card, it simply makes me want to punch you in the throat.\u00a0 (Relax. \u00a0That moment of satisfaction isn\u2019t worth my career.)<\/p>\n

Why should I let you out of a ticket?\u00a0 Allow me to list the lines that have been used on me lately:<\/p>\n

\u201cIt seems like you\u2019re targeting women by pulling me over.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYou wouldn\u2019t arrest a gay man, would you?\u00a0 That\u2019s discrimination.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYou pulled me over because you saw my turban.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m black.\u00a0 I\u2019m black.\u00a0 I\u2019m black.\u00a0 But you knew that, didn\u2019t you?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cLet me guess.\u00a0 You\u2019re targeting Muslims in this neighborhood.\u201d<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s be clear about something.\u00a0 I don\u2019t care what you look like, who you sleep with, who you pray to or what you\u2019re rocking (or not rocking) between your legs.\u00a0 I hate everyone equally, these days.<\/p>\n

But parents are teaching kids to have this victim mentality and it\u2019s spilling over in society.<\/p>\n

Don\u2019t believe me?\u00a0 How about all of these \u201canti-bullying\u201d programs?<\/p>\n

We\u2019re not teaching kids coping mechanisms for real life.\u00a0 We\u2019re teaching them that bullying doesn\u2019t exist.\u00a0 That if they see it, they should simply report it.\u00a0 That they should play the victim card.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s how it was for us on the playground.\u00a0 That\u2019s how we developed a fire.\u00a0 That\u2019s how we earned respect.\u00a0 That\u2019s also how we made friends with our enemies.<\/p>\n

How Do We Fix It All<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is where I imagine I give words of advice.\u00a0 Wisdom that\u2019s going to fix the world.\u00a0 Ideas that are going to somehow make parents start parenting again, bring fathers back into their kids\u2019 lives and once again rebuild the moral fiber of America.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

But I\u2019ve got nothing.<\/p>\n

Actually, I lied.\u00a0 I\u2019ve got Jack Daniels.\u00a0 And only about two years left.\u00a0 The rest of you are screwed.<\/p>\n
