\nNo charges filed in Leaf Valley shooting death <\/strong><\/p>\n

\nNo charges will be filed in the shooting death of David Bragg in his home near Leaf Valley on May 9, 2018.<\/p>\n

After reviewing the investigative materials in the case, Douglas County Attorney Chad Larson determined that Bragg’s girlfriend was acting in self-defense when she shot Bragg, 43.<\/p>\n

In a Jan. 25 letter to Douglas County Sheriff Troy Wolbersen, Larson said the facts showed that Bragg discharged his firearm at his girlfriend from close range while the two were engaged in an altercation that had become physical.<\/p>\n

Bragg reportedly moved to the area in the fall of 2017 and was living in a house with his girlfriend and her two children at 7395 County Road 5 NW, Garfield, about one mile west of The Leaf Valley Mercantile.<\/p>\n

At about 4:10 p.m. on May 9, the sheriff’s office received a 9-1-1 call about a domestic disturbance in progress at the house. As law enforcement officers were responding, they were advised by a dispatcher that a firearm was involved and shots had been fired.<\/p>\n

Upon arrival, deputies talked to Bragg’s girlfriend and the two children who were at the residence during the disturbance, according to the sheriff’s office. They were all uninjured.<\/p>\n

Deputies found Bragg’s body in a living room area downstairs.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\nLas Vegas police investigate home invasion, shooting in southwest valley <\/strong><\/p>\n

\nLAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Las Vegas police said a shootout occurred during an attempted home invasion in the southwest valley on Friday.<\/p>\n

Officers responded about 9:46 a.m. to the 9200 block of Starcross Lane, near Fort Apache Road and Twain Avenue, police said in an email.<\/p>\n

The homeowner told police he was shot by two men who entered his house, then while they were fleeing, he fired back at them.<\/p>\n

The homeowner was transported to University Medical Center in unknown condition.<\/p>\n

About 10 minutes later, police said two men with gunshot wounds were dropped off at Southern Hills Hospital. Both were in critical condition.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

(St. Joseph, Mo.) A St. Joseph man is found not guilty of murder.<\/p>\n

Raydel Cespedes, 26, was charged with second degree murder and armed criminal action in the shooting death of Anthony Miner Jr., 27. The shooting happened off the 2000 block of Edmond Street back in August 2017.<\/p>\n

Proscutors alleged Cespedes shot and killed Miner during an argument at Cespedes’ home. The defense argued that Cespedes acted in “self-defense.”<\/p>\n

Cespedes who did testify in court says Miner got very angry and Cespedes was afraid for his life and reached for a gun. He fired one warning shot but didn’t think a second shot would hit Miner.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
