It\u2019s not just conservatives that are driven crazy by D-NY Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Some of the firebrand’s own colleagues view her with suspicion. <\/p>\n
There’s an article in The Politico<\/a> this month, which featured a series of on-the-record attacks on AOC, as she has become known. Some lawmakers bristled at her willingness to openly criticize fellow Democrats. <\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m sure Ms. Cortez means well, but there\u2019s almost an outstanding rule: Don\u2019t attack your own people,\u201d said Rep. Emanuel Cleaver II (D-Mo.).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n But there’s more. The company she keeps and the far left agenda she endorses also raises hackles among senior Democrats. Here’s how:<\/p>\n By Scott Wong At least one House Democrat has been privately urging members of the New York delegation to recruit a local politician from the Bronx or Queens to challenge Ocasio-Cortez.<\/p>\n \u201cWhat I have recommended to the New York delegation is that you find her a primary opponent and make her a one-term congressperson,\u201d the Democratic lawmaker, who requested anonymity, told The Hill. \u201cYou\u2019ve got numerous council people and state legislators who\u2019ve been waiting 20 years for that seat. \nRep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez D-N.Y.) has infuriated colleagues by aligning with a progressive outside group that\u2019s threatening to primary entrenched Democrats. Now some of those lawmakers are turning the tables on her and are discussing recruiting a primary challenger to run against the social media sensation.<\/p>\n
