What else could go wrong?<\/span><br \/>\n<strong>Galva man found not guilty in murder trial<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>By Robert Connelly<br \/>\nGALESBURG \u2014 A Galva man was found not guilty Friday of murder in connection with the June 2018 shooting of a 19-year-old who had crashed his truck on his property.<\/p>\n<p>James Love, 59, of Knox Road 2000, was acquitted after about an hour of deliberations by Knox County jurors. He had faced charges of first-degree murder, aggravated battery and aggravated discharge of a firearm for the death of Xavier Hartman.<\/p>\n<p>Hartman died of a gunshot wound that struck his femoral artery after a dispute with Love after Hartman reportedly crashed a vehicle near Love\u2019s rural Galva home. The shooting occurred after a scuffle reportedly happened between the two that included Hartman striking Love in the face at least once. Hartman, who was unarmed, was struck by two bullets in the incident.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>1 \/ 0 \/ 0<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Fibber? More like leaker.<\/span><br \/>\n<strong>Alleged fibber arrested after robbery, shooting in Sumter<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>BY ADRIENNE SARVIS<br \/>\nA Sumter man is in jail after allegedly lying to the police about being the victim of a shooting when he may have been shot while committing an armed robbery by the victim of the robbery.<\/p>\n<p>Details of the moments leading up to Frankie Furman&#8217;s treatment at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital became clearer as Sumter police officers investigated his claim that he was shot while in the Manning Avenue area near Atlantic Avenue on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Officers could not find evidence to corroborate Furman&#8217;s story and determined that no shots had been fired at that location, said Tonyia McGirt, public information officer for Sumter Police Department.<\/p>\n<p>About 30 minutes before being called to visit Furman &#8211; who was receiving treatment for a gunshot wound to the upper body &#8211; at the hospital, officers responded to a call of shots fired in the Manchester Road area.<\/p>\n<p>Two women in the area said they were robbed at gunpoint after a man pulled up behind their vehicle while they were parked in the driveway of a residence, McGirt said. The man reportedly told the women to hand over their purses and jewelry.<\/p>\n<p>After responding and fearing for their safety, McGirt said, one of the women retrieved a legally owned handgun that was inside the vehicle and fired it in the direction of the robber, who then drove off.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>O \/ 1 \/ 0<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Must have drawn eights and aces.<\/span><br \/>\n<strong>Suspected robber dies in shooting at Lumberton sweepstakes parlor<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>A Lumberton man was shot and killed Thursday night while to trying to hold up a local sweepstakes parlor, authorities said.<\/p>\n<p>Robeson County deputies responded to a robbery and shooting at Lucky Clover Arcade, at 5306 N.C. Highway 72 West, at about 9:45 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>James Locklear, 35, of Pembroke, a manager of the business, was taken to an undisclosed hospital for treatment and was stabilized, authorities said.<\/p>\n<p>A second shooting <strong>victim<\/strong>, later identified as Gerald Lamar Cooper, 30, fled the scene before deputies arrived, but they were able to find him near a wooded area on Journey Road, authorities said.
