The entitled Congresswoman Sheila Jackson-Lee has had a rough ride back in economy class, where the great unwashed have to ride. <\/p>\n
Seems a lawsuit filed by \u201cJane Doe,” said she was raped by a Congressional Black Conference Foundation employee in 2015, when she was a 19-year-old intern, and her attacker was the 30-year-old coordinator of the CBCF\u2019s intern program.<\/p>\n
Her detailed lawsuit suggested a police investigation ensued, including taking the alleged attacker\u2019s DNA, though it does not seem that a prosecution took place.<\/p>\n
Which brings us to this:<\/p>\n
Sheila Jackson Lee is the U.S. Representative for Texas’s 18th congressional district, currently serving in her 13th term in the House. Born Sheila Jackson in Queens, New York. Her parents were both immigrants from Jamaica. She graduated from Jamaica High School in Queens. She earned a B.A. in political science from Yale University in 1972, followed by a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1975.<\/p>\n
In 1994, Jackson Lee challenged four-term incumbent U.S. Congressman Craig Washington in the Democratic primary, for opposing several projects that would have benefited the Houston area. Jackson Lee defeated Washington in a rout, taking 63% to Washington’s 37%. The victory secured her election in this heavily Democratic, black-majority district. In the general election, she defeated Republican nominee Jerry Burley 73%-24%.<\/p>\n
Jackson Lee served on the House Science Committee and on the Subcommittee that oversees space policy and NASA. She is a member of the Congressional Black Caucus, as a CBC whip.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee gave up a subcommittee chairman\u2019s post and appears to have been ousted as chairwoman of the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation after she was accused of retaliating against an employee who said a foundation supervisor raped her.<\/p>\n
The Texas congresswoman had been in line to be chair of the Judiciary Committee\u2019s crime, terrorism and homeland security subcommittee, but is out now amid concerns her situation would derail important work on the Violence Against Women Act.<\/p>\n
Despite being the third-ranking Democrat on the committee, she was excluded from all of the subcommittee chairs.<\/p>\n
Judiciary Chairman Jerrold Nadler said Ms. Jackson Lee made a decision to \u201cvoluntarily and temporarily step back.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThis decision does not suggest any culpability by Rep. Jackson Lee,\u201d said Mr. Nadler, New York Democrat. He said Rep. Karen Bass would serve as chairwoman \u201cuntil the matter is resolved and Rep. Jackson Lee can resume the role of the chair.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Sheila Jackson Lee has been a congresswoman for over 20 years. However, she acts far more like an arrogant monarch than a humble servant of the people. <\/p>\n
The Texas Democrat has regularly abused her power and position to demand and receive special treatment from private companies, demean and harass subordinates, and reap untold benefits of being \u201cThe Queen.\u201d<\/p>\n
When her abusive behavior comes to light, Jackson Lee often claims her opponents are racist.<\/p>\n
Jackson Lee\u2019s most recent abuse of power comes at the expense of teacher Jean-Marie Simon who was allegedly bumped from her first class seat when Jackson-Lee demanded it. Simon was given a voucher for her flight by United and moved to the economy section. On her way to the back of the plane, Simon saw Jackson Lee occupying her seat.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
