And you need to leave right now because we won\u2019t serve you!\u201d Piatek claims the staff of The Happiest Hour on West 10th Street told him after he and his pals complained about\u00a0the rude service they were getting from a bartender.<\/p>\n<p>So he sued in Manhattan Supreme Court, claiming the incident \u201coffended his sense of being American.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"inline-related alignright\">\n<div id=\"more-on\" class=\"module--see-also box module inline related desktop\">\n<div class=\"module-wrapper \">\n<article class=\"story-photo-box oversize-headline\">\n<div class=\"headline-wrapper\">\n<div class=\"headline-container\">\n<h3 class=\"postid-10861055 headline\"><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>But on Wednesday, when the bar\u2019s lawyer, Elizabeth Conway, pointed out that only religious, and not political, beliefs are protected under state and city discrimination laws, saying, \u201csupporting Trump is not a religion\u201d \u2014 Piatek pivoted.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe purpose of the hat is that he wore it because he was visiting the 9\/11 Memorial,\u201d his attorney Paul Liggieri told Justice David Cohen in court Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe was paying spiritual tribute to the victims of 9\/11. The Make American Great Again hat was part of his spiritual belief,\u201d Liggieri claimed.
