{"id":83332,"date":"2018-12-07T10:00:54","date_gmt":"2018-12-07T14:00:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/valorguardians.com\/blog\/?p=83332"},"modified":"2018-12-06T22:25:59","modified_gmt":"2018-12-07T02:25:59","slug":"poor-maintenance-contributed-to-a-devastating-c-130-crash","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/?p=83332","title":{"rendered":"Poor maintenance contributed to a devastating C-130 crash."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/c-130-hangar-e1544149173608.jpg\" alt=\"c130\" \/><br \/>\nPosted at AnotherPat&#8217;s request.<br \/>\n<strong>Here\u2019s how the Air Force will make sure it doesn\u2019t happen again.<\/strong><br \/>\nBy: Valerie Insinna <\/p>\n<blockquote><p>WASHINGTON \u2014 Sloppy maintenance work at an Air Force depot was at the root of a tragic crash of a Marine Corps Reserve KC-130T that resulted in the deaths of 16 service members in July 2017.<\/p>\n<p>According to a command investigation and about 2,000 pages of supporting documentation, obtained exclusively by Defense News and Military Times, a corroded blade broke off of the aircraft, sliced through the fuselage, and set off a chain of events that ended with the plane splitting into three pieces and crashing into a Mississippi soybean field.<\/p>\n<p>The blade was last overhauled at Warner Robins Air Logistics Complex in 2011, where civilian maintainers are responsible for rooting out corrosion and other such problems.
