Cooper gave us Condition Yellow<\/span> for a reason.<\/span><\/p>\n Off-Duty Chicago Police Officer Shoots, Kills Armed Teen During Attempted Robbery<\/strong><\/p>\n A 16-year-old boy was killed and another teenage boy was in custody after allegedly trying to rob an off-duty Chicago police officer at gunpoint Thursday morning in the Arcadia Terrace neighborhood on the Northwest Side.<\/p>\n At 2:23 a.m., the CPD officer was sitting inside his personal vehicle parked in the 5800 block of North Talman Avenue when the two teens walked over, CPD Deputy Chief Al Nagode said in the press conference after the shooting. The 16-year-old allegedly pointed a handgun and announced a robbery.<\/p>\n The officer handed over his belongings, Nagode said, but the second boy reached in the car and patted the officer down for more items.<\/p>\n He located a second wallet that contained the officer\u2019s police star, Nagode said. The 16-year-old allegedly pointed his gun at the officer and told him not to move.<\/p>\n \u201cThe officer, knowing that he\u2019s armed, was forced to pull out his weapon, and he fires at the individual,\u201d Nagode said.<\/p>\n After he shot the 16-year-old, the other boy ran away with the officer\u2019s belongings, Nagode said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n The rest of the article is available at NBC Chicago<\/a><\/p>\n One in the slam, one in the wind, but briefly.<\/span><\/p>\n Two injured in Fairbanks home invasion, shooting<\/strong><\/p>\n Staff Report newsroom@newsminer.com<\/p>\n FAIRBANKS \u2014 Fairbanks police arrested two men Thursday morning in connection with a home invasion and shooting that left both a resident of the home and one of the accused invaders shot.At approximately 10:14 a.m., Fairbanks police and state troopers were called to a Southern Avenue home in the Aurora Subdivision for a reported home invasion. When they arrived, they found a resident of the home and one of the suspects had been shot inside the house, according to a department release.<\/p>\n Witnesses at the house said two men with guns, dressed in black, forced the front door open and shot their roommate. The witnesses told officers their roommate was able to shoot one of the suspects, who collapsed at the scene.
