Homeowner shoots man who allegedly used boulder to break into home<\/strong><\/p>\n Brings a rock to, well, you know.<\/span><\/p>\n SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – A would-be burglar smashed into a home using a giant rock, but he didn’t know the homeowner was inside with a gun, prepared to protect his family.<\/p>\n The homeowner is so scared, he went to get his concealed carry permit Monday.<\/p>\n \u201cI looked at my phone and it was like two o’clock in the morning. Nobody should be here,” said Bill Wright, who was caught off guard over the weekend by an unexpected visitor. \u201cHe started banging on the doors really hard and aggressively, started punching the doors.\u201d<\/p>\n Wright is still dealing with the effects of last week’s ice storm, with no power and no lights.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen he ran around the back and disappeared around the back I thought, this is going up another level,\u201d Wright said. \u201cAnd that’s when I went and got my gun.\u201d<\/p>\n The man behind the burglary, according to police paperwork, is Dustin Miller. According to police paperwork, Miller tried to kick in Wright’s door. When he didn’t get too far with that \u2013 he walked off.<\/p>\n When he came back, the homeowner claims he picked up a boulder, threw it into the door and shattered all the glass.<\/p>\n \u201cI was only eight feet from him,\u201d Wright said, which is when he said he fired two warning shots. Police are investigating the connection.<\/p>\n “There was an exchange of fire between the homeowner and the suspects. The homeowner was not struck, and the suspects fled the scene,” KCPD spokesman Sgt. Jake Becchina said.<\/p>\n A short time later, one of the suspects who was shot showed up at a nearby hospital.<\/p>\n Later Monday, police arrested the other suspect at a house about two miles away from the apartment.
