Back by popular demand, OK, a couple Ex’s and I decided to bring back some of the more egregious posers that have graced the TAH site in the past, with the idea of turning it into a weekly feature. Depending, of course on the reception we receive. So without further ado, today’s relic is Jimmy Walls, embellisher and phony H-1 pilot.<\/p>\n

\nSomeone sent us their work on this James Walls fellow who moderates a Facebook<\/a> group called UH-1 Huey Helicopter<\/a> where he gives everyone the impression that he was a Vietnam helicopter pilot in the 1st Cavalry Division.<\/p>\n

Well, he was in the Cav \u2013 3rd Squadron 12th Calvary of the 3rd Armored Division in Germany from 1967 \u2013 1969. In 1969, he went to Vietnam and he was assigned to the 169th Engineer Battalion in the Delta region. Funny assignment for a pilot, huh? Well, he was a parts supply guy, a TAMMS clerk, not a pilot. Not in the Cav and flying a desk. There\u2019s nothing wrong with being a supply guy, there is if you pretend to be something you\u2019re not. You\u2019ll notice in the pictures above, he\u2019s wearing aviator wings on his jacket and a 1st Cavalry patch \u2013 he was never in the 1st Cav. He\u2019s wearing a 3rd Armored Division patch in the one picture \u2013 that\u2019s correct.<\/p>\n
