So today\u2019s WOT article consists of a photo, a comment &#8211; and a hint.  <\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s the photo:<\/p>\n<p><center><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/theaviationist.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/SR-71-2.jpg\" height=\"385\" width=\"600\"><\/center><\/p>\n<p>The comment:   the bright areas in the exhaust are called <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Shock_diamond\"><i>shock diamonds<\/i><\/a>.  They\u2019re standing wave patterns that appear in supersonic exhaust plumes.<\/p>\n<p>The hint:  the photo is the hint.  <\/p>\n<p>Enjoy the WOT, everyone \u2013 and the weekend.
