She came to the country as a child on a visitor visa and held other visas before enlisting in 2013 under a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.armytimes.com\/news\/your-army\/2018\/08\/09\/the-army-has-stopped-kicking-out-immigrant-recruits-heres-why\/\">special government program for foreign citizens<\/a>\u00a0who want to serve in the U.S. military.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col-md-12 col-xs-12 col-print-12\">\n<p class=\"element element-paragraph\">Under the program, recruits agreed in their enlistment contracts to apply to naturalize as soon as their honorable service was certified.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col-md-12 col-xs-12 col-print-12\">\n<p class=\"element element-paragraph\">Her lawsuit alleged that that the government improperly failed to process her citizenship application.
