From Columbus County, NC<\/a><\/p>\n

A Columbus County\u00a0homeowner reportedly shot and injured a man attempting to enter his residence late Thursday night.According to a spokeswoman with the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office, the homeowner told deputies that one of his neighbors tried to enter his home on Tillman Avenue \u2014 about 12 miles outside of Tabor City \u2014 around 11:20 p.m.<\/p>\n

The neighbor, identified\u00a0as 28-year-old Edward Deron Riggins of Tillman Avenue, allegedly started firing gunshots into the home.\u00a0 The homeowner returned fire from inside the home, eventually hitting Riggins.<\/p>\n

Riggins was taken by private vehicle to a Horry County, SC\u00a0hospital for treatment. When he was released from the hospital, authorities took him into custody and booked him into the J. Reuben Long Detention Center in Conway, SC where he remains jailed as of Friday morning.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

From\u00a0Charleston, S.C.<\/a><\/p>\n

A man has been shot to death after Charleston Police say he forced his way inside an apartment late Wednesday night, and first shot someone else.\u00a0 The incident\u00a0happened on N. Romney Street around 11 p.m. Wednesday, police say.<\/p>\n

According to officers, a 24-year-old man from West Ashley showed up at the apartment, and eventually forced his way inside.\u00a0 Once inside, police say the West Ashley man shot a 31-year-old North Charleston man, leading to a struggle.<\/p>\n

Eventually, police say someone inside the apartment fired several more gunshots, striking the West Ashley man multiple times in his torso.<\/p>\n
