{"id":79477,"date":"2018-05-16T09:36:38","date_gmt":"2018-05-16T13:36:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/valorguardians.com\/blog\/?p=79477"},"modified":"2022-01-23T22:45:45","modified_gmt":"2022-01-24T03:45:45","slug":"nonprofit-to-wear-clothing-other-than-military-uniforms","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/?p=79477","title":{"rendered":"Nonprofit to wear clothing other than military uniforms"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><script type=\"text\/javascript\" charset=\"UTF-8\" src=\"https:\/\/www.nbcmiami.com\/portableplayer\/?cmsID=482726431&#038;videoID=otS_jcKH1fL9&#038;origin=nbcmiami.com&#038;sec=news&#038;subsec=local&#038;fullWidth=y\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcmiami.com\/news\/local\/Veterans-Nonprofit-Members-to-No-Longer-Collect-in-Military-Uniforms-After-Miami-Stolen-Valor-Confrontation-482720531.html\">NBC Miami<\/a> reports that a nonprofit organization, the Veterans and Patriots Citadel Incorporated, in reaction to charges of &#8220;Stolen Valor&#8221; has announced that they won&#8217;t be panhandling for donations in military uniforms.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The change comes after the Miami-Dade County Commissioner&#8217;s Military Affairs Board sent a warning to the public, urging them to help veterans organizations but to also properly vet people collecting funds.<\/p>\n<p>The move comes after a former U.S. Marine confronted men in military-style uniforms asking for money at a Miami intersection in an alleged case of &#8220;Stolen Valor.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>That&#8217;s as it should be &#8211; the military uniform isn&#8217;t a costume for hobos.
