{"id":79009,"date":"2018-04-23T07:00:53","date_gmt":"2018-04-23T11:00:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/valorguardians.com\/blog\/?p=79009"},"modified":"2018-04-22T14:40:47","modified_gmt":"2018-04-22T18:40:47","slug":"monday-morning-feel-good-stories-161","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/?p=79009","title":{"rendered":"Monday morning feel good stories"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>From <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fox5atlanta.com\/news\/robber-attempts-to-ambush-former-dekalb-police-officer\">Newton County, Georgia<\/a>;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Authorities are on the hunt for a dangerous armed robber who ambushed a homeowner in his driveway.<\/p>\n<p>It all happened in a quiet neighborhood in Newton County.<\/p>\n<p>But homeowner Carlos Wicker had a surprise as well.<\/p>\n<p>Wicker was armed, was a former police officer, and says he was more than prepared to take on the suspect.<\/p>\n<p>For 16 years Wicker served as a police officer, so he thinks this would-be robber with a gun messed with the wrong homeowner.<\/p>\n<p>So on Tuesday, when a robber ambushed him in his driveway at the Riverwalk Farms community off Dearing Road in Newton County just after midnight, he wasn&#8217;t worried.<\/p>\n<p>He says his years of officer training as a former DeKalb County police officer and district attorney investigator, working to take criminals off the street, took over.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I pulled my gun, I shot at him and he took off running,&#8221; Wicker said.<\/p>\n<p>Newton County deputies told FOX 5 they&#8217;re on the hunt for the robbers.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>From <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yakimaherald.com\/news\/local\/two-dead-three-others-stabbed-in-early-morning-home-invasion\/article_dadf187a-4646-11e8-b340-539c2d5a5161.html\">Yakima, Washington<\/a>;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Two people who forced themselves into a home early Sunday are dead of stab wounds and three people in the home were also stabbed, Yakima police reported.<\/p>\n<p>Police responded to a home invasion robbery in the 1900 block of South 64th Avenue at about 3:50 a.m., according to a news release. <\/p>\n<p>Two suspects forced their way inside, authorities said. Once inside, a fight ensued between the family members and the two suspects.<\/p>\n<p>Three family members were stabbed, as were both suspects. The family members were all transported to an area hospital for treatment, the release noted. Both suspects died at the scene.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>From <a href=\"https:\/\/www.detroitnews.com\/story\/news\/local\/detroit-city\/2018\/04\/22\/police-man-shot-face-hits-home-intruder\/540212002\/\">Detroit, Michigan<\/a>;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The home invasion and shooting took place about 2:15 a.m. on the 13000 block of Tacoma, which is south of East State Fair and west of Schoenherr. <\/p>\n<p>Police say the victim was sitting in his living room when the suspect, a 51-year-old man, barged into the home and fired shots, one of which struck the victim in his face.<\/p>\n<p>The victim was able to grab a piece of wood and hit the suspect in his head with it. <\/p>\n<p>The victim was taken to the hospital, where he&#8217;s listed in temporary serious condition. <\/p>\n<p>The suspect ran out of the house, apparently dropping the gun in the process. Police recovered the weapon at the scene.
