While it&#8217;s mostly accurate, the &#8220;teacher&#8221; was actually a local reserve police officer and the mayor pro tem of Seaside City, California. <\/p>\n<p>Anyway, he pointed his gun at the ceiling and had a negligent discharge. One student was struck in the area of his neck by a bullet or ceiling fragment (pictured above). <\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;I think a lot of questions on parents&#8217; minds are, why a teacher would be pointing a loaded firearm at the ceiling in front of students,&#8221; Superintendent PK Diffenbaugh told CNN affiliate KSBW. &#8220;Clearly in this incident protocols were not followed.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>A lot of questions should be on the minds of the people who hired him to be police officer, too. Questions like &#8220;Why is this guy our mayor?&#8221; and &#8220;Who gave this guy a gun?&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>Again, as always, it&#8217;s people who are the problem, not the guns.
