They called the local sheriff who took it away. The LEOs locked up the &#8220;live grenade&#8221; in their HazMat locker. The grenade doesn&#8217;t look like any I&#8217;d ever seen, after spending years as a grenadier in infantry units.<\/p>\n<p>As you can imagine, it was big news this morning in social media.<\/p>\n<p>But if you wait awhile, the truth will eventually come out;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The device is a toy Airsoft replica of the military\u2019s M203 grenade launcher.<\/p>\n<p>It was made by ICS Airsoft in Taiwan.<\/p>\n<p>The toy grenade found in the Airsoft launcher shoots multiple pellets.<\/p>\n<p>Airsoft toys are designed to shoot plastic pellets at a relatively low, harmless velocity.<\/p>\n<p>Many Airsoft enthusiasts form teams and play war games, during which they shoot at each other with the replica firearms.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Whew.
