<\/a><\/center><\/p>\nWe discussed Arnold LePotvin last week<\/a> when we discovered that, despite his claims, he hadn’t served in Vietnam with 82d Airborne Division, or in Cypress with the United Nations Special Forces. The Observer<\/a> reports that he handed over his phony finery to veterans in Sarnia;<\/p>\n Sarnia veterans Bill Majovsky and Les Jones said Arnold LePotvin gave them the medals when they visited the man recently asking questions about his claim to have fought in Vietnam in the 1960s after enlisting at age 17 in the U.S. Army.<\/p>\n But, LePotvin said he was \u201cforced\u201d to hand over the medals.<\/p>\n \u201cI didn\u2019t want to but unfortunately I was threatened and I didn\u2019t appreciate it,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n \u201cThey were going to do this and do that, and I just said, \u2018No, I\u2019ve had it.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n Jones and Majovksy deny LePotvin was forced to hand over the medals.<\/p>\n \u201cHe was never threatened,\u201d Jones said.<\/p>\n \u201cWe told him he should give them up, and do the right thing.\u201d<\/p>\n Majovsky added, \u201cWe specifically asked him if he was volunteering to hand over his medals so he couldn\u2019t come back on us for any reason.\u201d<\/p>\n Majovsky and Jones are both veterans of the Canadian military, and Jones is a retired Sarnia police officer. They said the medals will be returned to the military.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Yeah, LaPotkin isn’t going quietly into that great good night.<\/p>\n Asked about the claims his medals were displayed incorrectly, LePotvin said, \u201cI had my medals mounted by a professional, that\u2019s all I got to say to that.\u201d<\/p>\n To the claims he never served in the U.S. Army, LePotvin said, \u201cWell, that\u2019s wrong.\u201d<\/p>\n He added, \u201cI\u2019ve got a few people in town who are out to get me and, frankly, I\u2019m sick and tired of it.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Because school janitors have so many enemies. <\/p>\n Someone who knows Arnold really well, disputes his claims, along with the NPRC;<\/p>\n Sarnia\u2019s Ronnie Askin said she is a close relative of LePotvin who was raised, as a sister, with him in the same home in Sarnia.<\/p>\n \u201cI know him very, very well,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n \u201cHe\u2019s never, ever been in the service.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
