{"id":77073,"date":"2018-01-10T09:42:15","date_gmt":"2018-01-10T14:42:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/valorguardians.com\/blog\/?p=77073"},"modified":"2018-01-10T09:42:15","modified_gmt":"2018-01-10T14:42:15","slug":"trump-signs-eo-supporting-our-veterans-during-their-transition-from-uniformed-service-to-civilian-life","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/?p=77073","title":{"rendered":"Trump signs EO  &#8220;Supporting Our Veterans During Their Transition from Uniformed Service to Civilian Life&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The president signed an Executive Order yesterday entitled &#8220;Supporting Our Veterans During Their Transition from Uniformed Service to Civilian Life&#8221; which automatically enrolls service members in Veterans&#8217; Affairs Department mental health programs when they leave the service according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stripes.com\/news\/trump-signs-order-to-improve-mental-health-care-for-new-vets-1.505865\">Stars &#038; Stripes<\/a>;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p> Officials with the Trump administration, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said Tuesday that many transitioning servicemembers have difficulty enrolling in VA health care because of the complex process in place. Only 40 percent of veterans enroll in VA mental health care in the first year after leaving the service, Shulkin said.<\/p>\n<p>In the next 60 days, the departments will work out specifics of how to allow exiting troops to be enrolled automatically in VA mental health care, with the option to opt out, Trump administration officials said.
