From Johnson County, Kentucky<\/a>;<\/p>\n

It happened Saturday morning in the Leander area.<\/p>\n

Gerardo Canuto, 31, is charged with first-degree burglary, possession of burglary tools, alcohol intoxication, and carrying a concealed deadly weapon. Investigators say Canuto is in the country illegally.<\/p>\n

The homeowner tells WSAZ that around 5 a.m. Saturday, he came downstairs to find an intruder crawling through his window. The victim lives in the 1500 block of Asa Creek Road.<\/p>\n

That victim tells WSAZ he chased the intruder off with his walking stick.<\/p>\n

A few hours later, the homeowner found the suspect inside his barn. He isn’t sure if the man was hiding or sleeping, but says he came out from behind the stacks of hay.<\/p>\n

The homeowner ordered him to the ground. Then, he and a neighbor held him at gunpoint until deputies could get to the house.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

From Houston, Texas<\/a>;<\/p>\n

The gas station clerk caught in a shootout in north Houston is speaking out about the terrifying ordeal.<\/p>\n

The shooting happened on West Little York over the weekend.<\/p>\n

“He pointed the gun and said, ‘Lay down, lay down.’ I had no idea what they were doing,” Mohammed Kahloon explained.<\/p>\n

In the surveillance video, you can see Kahloon open fire on two attempted robbers, even after he was struck in the arm.<\/p>\n

We got a chance to see those injuries in person.<\/p>\n

“Five on this side, one on the bottom and one on the right side. That’s six and seven,” he said.<\/p>\n

That’s not all. In addition to bullet wounds, Kahloon got hit the mouth and had a tooth knocked out.<\/p>\n

The suspects got away empty-handed, but one of them, Jarrell Farve, had been shot. He was found in a ditch a short distance away — dead from a gunshot wound.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
