From Lancaster, South Carolina<\/a>;<\/p>\n

The homeowner told deputies she heard her doorbell ring and answered the door on Nope Lane in Lancaster. <\/p>\n

That was when the man, who police said is Antonio D. Mackey, 35, of Lancaster, forced his way in leading to a struggle with the victim.<\/p>\n

She tried to dial 911, but Mackey took the phone from her hand.<\/p>\n

That was when the woman grabbed a pistol, firing a shot at Mackey who ran into the woods.<\/p>\n

Mackey is still on the loose and authorities are searching for him.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe need to get Mackey into custody as soon as possible, and I encourage anyone with information on his whereabouts to call us,\u201d Sheriff Barry Faile said. \u201cThis victim is a brave lady, and her response to this attack no doubt prevented her from being seriously injured.\u201d <\/p>\n

The victim was not seriously injured, and it is unknown whether the gunshot struck the man.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

From Finley, Washington<\/a>;<\/p>\n

Investigators say suspects Kelsey R. Sharp, 25, Anthony D. Davis Jr., 27, and Alan. G. Gomez, 26, backed into the property\u2019s driveway in a pickup and a car.<\/p>\n

The homeowners came out with a gun and baton to confront the intruders, who were allegedly trying to steal a pair of heating and cooling units, likely for the parts.<\/p>\n

When the man confronted them, Gomez jumped into a pickup stolen in Kennewick, stepped on the gas and appeared to be heading toward him.<\/p>\n

The man\u2019s girlfriend shot two or three times at the pickup but Gomez drove off, Brockman said.<\/p>\n

The couple held Davis and Sharp at gunpoint until deputies arrived to arrest them.<\/p>\n

Davis was booked into the Benton County jail on suspicion of second-degree theft and several warrants. Sharp was booked and released on suspicion of second-degree theft. They\u2019re still looking for Gomez.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

According to police, two men walked up to the home with shotguns in hand and approached the homeowner and another man on the porch.<\/p>\n

The two armed men allegedly started shooting at the men on the porch. Police say the homeowner shot back, hitting one of them.<\/p>\n

The other attacker fled, police say.<\/p>\n

The man who was shot was taken to the hospital in serious-but-stable condition, according to police. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n

An update to yesterday’s story from Sand Springs, Oklahoma<\/a>;<\/p>\n

Branden Lee Gray, 18, and James Edward Patterson, 37, both of Sand Springs, burglarized the house near Second Street and Franklin Avenue about 9:30 p.m. Thursday, police said. The property owner opened fire on Gray and Patterson, Capt. Todd Enzbrenner said. Patterson was killed by the gunfire.<\/p>\n

Police arrested Gray on complaints of first-degree felony murder and first-degree burglary. He was first booked into the Sand Springs Jail and then was transferred to the Tulsa Jail on Friday afternoon. He is not allowed to post bond at this time.<\/p>\n
