From Chicago, Illinois<\/a>;<\/p>\n

About 8 p.m., a 22-year-old man and two other people were in the rear of a building in the 1500 block of West 71st Street when they were approached by a 23-year-old man and another person, according to Chicago Police. The older man and his accomplice tried to rob the group, and shots were fired.<\/p>\n

The 23-year-old alleged suspect, identified as Robert Ward, was shot on the left side of his body, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner\u2019s office.<\/p>\n

Ward was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead at 8:41 p.m., according to the medical examiner\u2019s office. He lived on the same block where the shooting happened.<\/p>\n

The 22-year-old victim of the robbery attempt was shot in the leg and was also taken to Christ, where his condition has stabilized, police said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

From Middleton, Ohio<\/a>;<\/p>\n

The man told police he was sleeping at 8:15 a.m. today when he heard someone banging on the door of his apartment in the 100 block of Crawford Street, according to the police report.<\/p>\n

He grabbed his gun and walked to his front door where he saw a man looking through the window of his door. He told the intruder that if he didn\u2019t leave, he would be shot, according to the report.<\/p>\n

The intruder then left and got into a car that belonged to the man in the apartment. The man left his apartment, walked to his car and pointed his gun at the man in his car.<\/p>\n

The man left the vehicle and ran into the apartment, the report said. That\u2019s when the man turned and fired one shot, missing the intruder, the report said.<\/p>\n

Both men were transported to the police department for questioning.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

A story from Columbus, Ohio<\/a> about Khomary Rand and his pal Nathaniel Easley who forced their way into a home on April 6, 2016 with their firearms. Someone in the home shot Mr Easley twice in the chest. He stumbled outside and then collapsed, DOT (dead over there).<\/p>\n

Mr Rand was arrested soon afterward while fleeing the scene. The other day, Mr Rand was sentenced to six years for the felony murder of Mr Easley – they committed a felony and Mr Easley was killed as a result, so Mr Rand was charged with his murder. Rand’s sentence will be served concurrently with his five year sentence for felonious assault, because of a deal he struck with prosecutor, a deal that kind of defeats the purpose for the felony murder laws.<\/p>\n

No one in the home admitted to firing the gun that they used to kill Easely.<\/p>\n

In Orlando, Florida<\/a>;<\/p>\n

Orlando police said they were called to the store and found a 21-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso.<\/p>\n

Police said a man inside the store told officers that the shooting victim tried to rob him, but he took the man’s gun and shot him with it.<\/p>\n

Officers, however, said they have received conflicting stories about what happened.<\/p>\n
