{"id":75496,"date":"2017-10-22T06:57:34","date_gmt":"2017-10-22T10:57:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/valorguardians.com\/blog\/?p=75496"},"modified":"2017-10-21T17:04:37","modified_gmt":"2017-10-21T21:04:37","slug":"sunday-morning-feel-good-stories-128","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/?p=75496","title":{"rendered":"Sunday morning feel good stories"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Chief Tango sends us a story from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nola.com\/crime\/index.ssf\/2017\/10\/armed-robbery_suspect_shot_by.html#incart_river_index\">New Orleans, Louisiana<\/a>;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The victim, a 39-year-old woman, told detectives that she was getting into her vehicle when she was approached by two masked men.<\/p>\n<p>The men took out handguns and yelled at the victim to get on the ground, police said, but as one of the men tried to take the victim&#8217;s purse, she tried to back away.<\/p>\n<p>The other man then grabbed the victim by the hair and threw her to the ground, and the first man picked up the purse.<\/p>\n<p>The two robbers then took off running, with the victim&#8217;s son in pursuit, police said. The robbers reached a backyard in the 3700 block of Virgil Boulevard, where they reportedly fired shots at the victim&#8217;s son.<\/p>\n<p>The son, who was not injured, told police he returned fire and &#8220;possibly&#8221; struck one of the robbers, according to police.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Another one from Chief Tango. This one happened in <a href=\"http:\/\/wnct.com\/2017\/10\/20\/homeowner-fires-shots-at-intruder-in-bridgeton-home-invasion\/\">Bridgeton, North Carolina<\/a>;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Police responded at about 6:18 a.m. after an intruder broke into a home on Purifoy Street armed with a handgun and demanded money.<\/p>\n<p>The homeowner gave the intruder the money he had on him and a fight began, during which the homeowner got ahold of the handgun and shot at the intruder, police said.<\/p>\n<p>The intruder ran away before police arrived, and officers said they don\u2019t know whether or not the intruder was hit.<\/p>\n<p>The homeowner suffered non-life-threatening injuries.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The story has <a href=\"http:\/\/wnct.com\/2017\/10\/21\/suspect-arrested-in-bridgeton-armed-robbery\/\">been updated<\/a>;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Jimmy Dunn Jr. is accused of robbing a Craven County homeowner. Police say Dunn forced his way into the victim\u2019s home on Purifoy Street and demanded money.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities say Dunn and the homeowner got into a scuffle, and eventually the homeowner ended up getting the suspect\u2019s gun and firing several shots at Dunn.<\/p>\n<p>Dunn left the scene, but suffered several gunshot wounds. He was treated at CarolinaEast Medical Center and released.<\/p>\n<p>Dunn was booked into the Craven County Jail on a $1,000,000 secured bond.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>From <a href=\"http:\/\/www.djournal.com\/news\/burglary-suspect-shot-by-relative\/article_a2ca73c0-3df8-5bfc-a90c-f1497c316fce.html\">Tupelo, Mississippi<\/a>;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Lee County Sheriff Jim Johnson said deputies were called to a Highway 6 residence south of Plantersville around 4:45 p.m. where a male came home and confronted his mother and stepfather.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;He had a baseball bat in his hand and assaulted both of them,&#8221; Johnson said. &#8220;At one point, the stepfather was able to get a .45-caliber handgun and shoot the suspect.
