We talked<\/a> about Air National Guard Colonel Michael Shawn Garrett when he was arrested last Spring while he was attempting to meet with what he thought was a 14-year-old boy for sex in Panama City, Florida. Stars & Stripes<\/a> reports that he was convicted yesterday.<\/p>\n

Air Force Col. Michael Shawn Garrett, 45, arranged to meet with an undercover police officer who he believed was a 14-year-old boy to engage in sexual activity, according to evidence U.S. attorneys presented during a two-day trial in Panama City, Justice Department spokeswoman Amy Alexander said Wednesday in a prepared statement.<\/p>\n

Garrett is set to be sentenced Jan. 11. He faces at least 10 years in prison and a maximum of life imprisonment without parole.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Ten years ain’t enough. Apparently the conversation Garret had with the person he thought was a 14-year-old boy lasted for 90 minutes and Garret was explicit in what his intentions were with this minor child.<\/p>\n

Garrett is assigned to the 101st Air and Space Operations Group at Tyndall Air Force Base, near Panama City, according to the Air Force. He has served in Air Force since 1991 and was assigned to Tyndall since 2015.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
