The victim reported that she was in her vehicle when [Floyd May, 61] forced his way into her car while armed with a knife.<\/p>\n

During the struggle, the victim received a laceration to her arm.<\/p>\n

The male then forced the victim to drive him to a rural Rock Island County location.<\/p>\n

The victim was able to reach her firearm when they stopped in rural Rock Island County. The male then fled the area on foot. The victim transported herself to the hospital to receive treatment for the injury to her arm and to contact Moline police.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Mr. May is in custody.<\/p>\n

The 52-year-old homeowner told police someone with a flashlight was outside near a vehicle. He got a rifle and saw the suspect go into a pole barn, the sheriff\u2019s office said.<\/p>\n

He \u201cfound the suspect inside and a physical confrontation followed,\u201d a statement from the sheriff\u2019s office said. \u201cDuring the physical confrontation the suspect produced a handgun which the homeowner was able to wrestle away. When the homeowner attempted to use his phone to call 911, the suspect fled the barn. The homeowner did fire his rifle once in the air as the suspect fled.\u201d<\/p>\n

The homeowner suffered cuts and scratches to his arms, and police believe the suspect was also injured.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
