Mattis, and DOD should send the Navy, including the USNS Comfort, to Puerto Rico now. These are American citizens. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/J2FVg4II0n\">https:\/\/t.co\/J2FVg4II0n<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Hillary Clinton (@HillaryClinton) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/HillaryClinton\/status\/911984783194050560\">September 24, 2017<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s a shame that she wasn&#8217;t thinking of the Americans in the Benghazi consulate when she could have actually done something from the front seat. Anyway, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/news\/checkpoint\/wp\/2017\/09\/26\/clinton-pressured-trump-to-deploy-hospital-ship-comfort-to-puerto-rico-now-its-on-the-way\/?utm_term=.64a789929017\">Washington Post<\/a> helpfully points out;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The Navy already had two amphibious ships off the coast, the USS Kearsarge and the USS Oak Hill, so the few thousand Marines and sailors aboard could launch relief operations. But her call to action took off, with a petition on the website Change.org garnering more than 100,000 signatures in three days and critics expressing frustration with the hashtag #SendtheComfort.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Yeah, those petitions really have an influence on the body politic. Almost as much influence as a loser of the last Presidential election in her tweets.<\/p>\n<p>Either way, the USNS Comfort will be steaming towards Puerto Rico soon. You know, even though Puerto Rico kicked the Navy out a few years ago.<\/p>\n<p>Puerto Rico&#8217;s Governor Ricardo Rossell\u00f3 has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gossipcop.com\/puerto-rico-governor-ricardo-rossello-the-view-video-donald-trump-hurricane-maria-interview-watch\/\">complemented<\/a> US efforts thus far;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI know it is a challenging situation,\u201d Rossello acknowledged. \u201cThis is the most devastating event in the history of Puerto Rico\u2026 But we U.S. citizens who live in Puerto Rico, the proud U.S. citizens who live in Puerto Rico, want to work, want to deal with the emergency, but we are also looking forward for a special aid package from Congress.\u201d He urged that the federal government \u201cact quickly,\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Yeah, coming off of two other disaster relief operations in Texas and Florida, helping Mexico with it&#8217;s earthquake victims and now Puerto Rico &#8211; all within a month, I think we&#8217;re doing fine.
