From Hammond, Indiana<\/a>;<\/p>\n

A man died Friday morning after he was shot while apparently attempting to rob several people in a home in the 6400 block of Woodward Avenue, police said.<\/p>\n

The man, who has not yet been identified, reportedly entered the home’s front door just before 7:30 a.m. and told several people he knew of a safe inside and intended to rob them, police Lt. Steve Kellogg said.<\/p>\n

Witnesses told police they believed the man had a gun, Kellogg said.<\/p>\n

The man led three people to a room in the basement. As he led the three out, a fourth person \u2014 who had been in another room \u2014 confronted the man and shot him multiple times, police said.<\/p>\n

The people in the home called police and are cooperating, Kellogg said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

From Bridgeport, Connecticut<\/a>;<\/p>\n

Police say two suspects entered a home at 903 Kossuth St. around 5 p.m. with the intention of robbing someone.<\/p>\n

The homeowner shot one of the suspects, who was wearing a mask, according to authorities. They say the two suspects then fled in a pickup truck that police pulled over at Barnum and Central avenues.<\/p>\n

One suspect was arrested and the other was taken to Bridgeport Hospital for injuries from the shooting.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

From Marion, Virginia<\/a>;<\/p>\n

Police say they received a report of a possible breaking and entering at a residence.<\/p>\n

When crews arrived at the scene, they said that the resident of the home was still at the scene.<\/p>\n

Officials say that early investigations show that shots had been fired and one person was reported injured.<\/p>\n

The suspect was later found by police suffering from two gunshot wounds. The individual was then taken into custody and transported to Smyth County Community Hospital.<\/p>\n

Police say he is reported to be in serious, but stable condition.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

From Pensacola, Florida<\/a>;<\/p>\n

The man broke through the front door of the Pensacola Village Apartments building around 5:30 a.m., according to Pensacola Police Department spokesman Mike Wood. The occupant inside was the suspect’s ex-girlfriend, who Wood said was in fear for her life and shot the intruder in the leg.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
