Folks are telling us that he still claims to be a POW of the Vietnam War &#8211; he can&#8217;t eat rice because it gives him flashbacks to his POW days.<\/p>\n<p>Yeah, no. He was a prisoner, alright, as a deserter. He was in the Army for 16 months, February, 1964 &#8211; June 1965, five months of which, August, 1964 &#8211; January, 1965, he was a deserter.
