About 11 p.m. Corpus Christi police officers responded to the 7100 block of Ficus Court, near Yorktown Boulevard.<\/p>\n

Officers found a man who had been shot in the head, officials said. According to officers at the scene, the man had broken into the residence and was shot by the homeowner. <\/p>\n

The shooting happened about an hour after Hurricane Harvey — a category 4 hurricane — made landfall near Corpus Christi. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Another one in Houston, Texas<\/a>;<\/p>\n

An alleged intruder was shot dead by a home resident in Houston’s Greater East End early Saturday.<\/p>\n

Authorities received a call about the incident around 3 a.m., according to the Houston Police Department’s homicide division.<\/p>\n

A person reportedly attempting to enter a home in the 6900 block of Avenue T was shot and killed by someone inside.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

From Rowlett, Texas<\/a>;<\/p>\n

According to McLendon-Chisholm City Administrator Dave Butler, two intruders were shot by a Rowlett homeowner earlier today. One of them escaped and ended up at the Shell gas station.<\/p>\n

The reported home invasion and shooting occurred in the 7000 block of Mercurys Road in Rowlett, Texas, before noon.<\/p>\n

The wounded home intruder was discovered at the gas station, in the 100 block of State Highway 205 just north of the Kaufman-Rockwall County line, and was transported to an area hospital to undergo surgery. The intruder\u2019s current condition is unknown.<\/p>\n

Butler says the intruder falsely reported being carjacked to explain his gunshot wound.<\/p>\n

The second intruder was found at a local hospital after seeking medical attention for a gunshot wound to the torso, according to the Rowlett Police Department.<\/p>\n

The Rowlett Police Department says both individuals forcibly entered the home on Mercurys and began shooting. The male homeowner returned gunfire with a handgun.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

From League City, Texas<\/a>;<\/p>\n

On Aug. 25 at about 10:45 a.m., officers responded to a reported shooting in the 200 block of Harbor Bend Lane in the Bay Colony subdivision. <\/p>\n

They arrived to find the suspect, 38-year-old Donald Reese McCorkle, sitting in a front yard with a gunshot wound to his leg. <\/p>\n

After arranging medical care, officers learned that McCorkle allegedly attempted to break into a home and was shot one time in the leg by the homeowner, police said. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
