One of the perpetrators “forced entry into the residence and a struggle ensued with an elderly victim,” Bratz said in a news release.<\/p>\n

During the confrontation, the victim discharged a round during the altercation striking the floor. The perpetrators then took the victim\u2019s handgun and fled the residence, police said.<\/p>\n

A short time after the 911 call, troopers observed a suspicious vehicle on Moose Lodge Road and conducted a traffic stop, Bratz said. <\/p>\n

Evidence inside the vehicle linked the four suspects to the home invasion, he said. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n

From Palm Springs, California<\/a>;<\/p>\n

Village police have identified the man killed last week in a home invasion as Jorge Crespo.<\/p>\n

The 24-year-old was thought to be invading a home on Pleasant Place, just west of Davis Road and north of Lake Worth Road, in the early hours of Aug. 17.<\/p>\n

Crespo reportedly stabbed one of the residents, prompting the home owner to stab Crespo to death.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\u201cOn August 23rd, 2017, at approximately 10:47 pm, Dispatch received a call from an unnamed male subject claiming that he had just shot an intruder on his neighbor\u2019s property approximately 20 miles West on Highway 160 and he believed the subject to be deceased.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe further explained that the intruder had attacked him with a knife when he approached him to ascertain his identity and the reason for his visit to the property.<\/p>\n
