They figured the best way out of the situation they created for themselves was for Kimberly to join the Army, because her husband was too fat and lazy to make the cut.

To their utter surprise, the Army sent Kimberly to Iraq, and then like everything else in their lives, they decided to default on the commitment they made to the people of the United States and waddled up to Canada. We thought Canada had got tired of supporting their lard-asses on the Canadian tax payers’ dime when they decided to deport her a few months ago. But Rivera, using the same solution she’s always applied to her family’s problem, dropped a third child a few weeks ago (are you Canadians tired of her spending your money yet?) and the court has issued a stay.

Kim Rivera served in Iraq with the American military in 2006 but moved to Canada the following year after she refused redeployment.

She has been living in Ontario with her husband and three children, including a six-week-old girl who was born in Canada.

Ken Marciniec of the War Resisters Support Campaign says Federal Court told Rivera’s lawyer last Friday that she would be granted a temporary stay of removal while the court decides whether to hear her case.

Marciniec says he doesn’t know how long it will take for the court to decide on Rivera’s fate, but for now the stay of removal is good news for her and her family.

Of course it’s good news – she’s putting off the inevitable. That’s what she and her husband have done their whole lives – avoided any responsibility for their actions. Oh, and she didn’t “refuse deployment” – she went AWOL when she was on a leave from Iraq. Her unit allowed her to return in the middle of the deployment and she absconded to Canada. Some other soldier had to pick up for her – at least one other soldier’s life got harder in Iraq because Rivera shirked her responsibilities while Rivera went back to doing what she does best; spitting out babies and collecting state benefits without having to work.

Don’t get me wrong, the Army is probably better off without her, but if the Canadians let her slide on this, they might as well keep her – and build her a bigger house, since her only skill appears to be making babies. That ought to make the Canadian taxpayers happy, two lazy buffalo-sized Americans living on the Canadian dole with their buffalo-sized children in perpetuity.

Thanks to Lucky for the tip.
