{"id":73816,"date":"2017-08-05T07:37:51","date_gmt":"2017-08-05T11:37:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/valorguardians.com\/blog\/?p=73816"},"modified":"2017-08-05T08:48:09","modified_gmt":"2017-08-05T12:48:09","slug":"rest-in-peace-coach-p","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/?p=73816","title":{"rendered":"Rest in Peace, Coach P"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ara Parseghian died this past Wednesday.\u00a0 He was 94.<\/p>\n<p>Most remember him for his days as head coach at Notre Dame University.\u00a0 Others remember him for his post-coaching work supporting medical research aimed at curing multiple sclerosis (his daughter was a sufferer) and Niemann-Pick disease Type C (the genetic disorder that claimed 3 of his grandchildren).\u00a0 By all accounts, he was a truly fine man.<\/p>\n<p>So, that\u2019s all nice \u2013 but why this article?<\/p>\n<p>Like many if not most men of his generation, Parseghian was a vet.\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ara_Parseghian#College_and_professional_career\"><em>He served in the US Navy<\/em><\/a> during World War II.<\/p>\n<p>Rest in peace, Coach P.\u00a0 Hopefully the Celestial Team has an opening for a coach.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ara Parseghian died this past Wednesday.\u00a0 He was 94.
