Two suspects were shot during a robbery of a jewelry store Tuesday afternoon in northwest Houston.<\/p>\n

Harris County Sheriff\u2019s deputies arrived at Your Jeweler at 12155 Jones Road around 2:40 p.m. Tuesday. They initially said an employee had been shot during a robbery of the business, but further investigation revealed two suspects were shot.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

One suspect somehow made it to a nearby hospital with multiple gunshot wounds. A second suspect did not survive. His body was dumped about six miles away from the scene on Rosehearty — a dead end street. It appeared a pistol was placed nearby, according to investigators. The third suspect was caught on surveillance video two doors down at a restaurant. He had stopped to use the restroom. He is the only one not in custody.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

When police responded at about 11:50 p.m., they found one person wounded \u2014 later identified as [Jordan] Davis \u2014 lying on the ground and a female inside the home with a gunshot wound. <\/p>\n

The homeowner who was not injured told police he was approached by four people while outside his home before he reportedly retreated back inside, police said. The suspects entered the residence behind him, he told police. <\/p>\n

The homeowner told police he exchanged gunfire with one of the suspects, including Davis, who was fatally wounded, according to authorities.<\/p>\n

Davis was able to crawl outside the home, and the woman inside the residence reportedly suffered a single gunshot wound.<\/p>\n

The remaining suspects fled, but one stopped to check on Davis. According to police and coroner investigators, when the homeowner came to the door to see if the suspects were gone, the person checking on Davis fired at him before fleeing on foot.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

A customer, Corey Martin, told police that he was sitting down eating when the man came in wearing a mask and dressed in all black.<\/p>\n

Witnesses told investigators that the man kept reaching into his waistband as if he had a weapon. He demanded money from the register and an employee handed over $350, police said.<\/p>\n

When the masked man ran away, the employee, who had a gun, gave chase, according to police.<\/p>\n

Investigators said the two exchanged gunfire.<\/p>\n

“We all ran to the back of the restroom when we heard gunshots,” Martin said. “I don’t know, it was crazy.”<\/p>\n

Several customers ran to the bathroom and called police, investigators said.<\/p>\n

Police found the man a few blocks away at a bus stop on Cleburne and Canefield with a single gunshot wound to his leg. <\/p>\n
