Last month, in Midwest City, Oklahoma<\/a>, Michael F. Moler, 16, broke into the New Community Church. After stealing some items there, he broke into the home of 62-year-old George Martin. Moler tried to attack Mr. Martin with a hammer, who responded with gunfire. Moler stumbled outside and collapsed in the driveway where police found him. Mr. Martin has been cleared of wrongdoing;<\/p>\n

Oklahoma County District Attorney David Prater has reviewed the circumstances and determined the shooting was justified.<\/p>\n

The police chief said: “Any person who makes a conscious decision to commit this type of crime should take note that homeowners have the legal right to protect themselves. That’s what happened in this event and the law saved an innocent victim.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Fresno police say the suspect walked into the Starbucks with a “Transformers” mask and a replica handgun. When the clerk seemed hesitant about giving up the money, he took out his knife. Seconds later, customer Cregg Jerri, 58, snuck up behind the suspect – armed with a chair – and struck. You can see the two get into a fight that led back into another part of the store. Police say the customer took the knife and stabbed the would-be robber several times until he took off running.<\/p>\n

Police say Jerri was stabbed in the neck but will be OK; they’re calling him a hero.<\/p>\n

As for the suspect, he was found a few blocks away and will be booked when he\u2019s out of the hospital.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
