From Zachary, Louisiana<\/a>;<\/p>\n

One person was shot and killed in a home invasion late Tuesday night in Zachary.<\/p>\n

According to the Zachary Police Department, the shooting occurred in the 4000 block of McHugh Road when a robbery suspect attempted to break into an apartment.<\/p>\n

The suspect was shot and killed by a homeowner.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

From Jackson, Mississippi<\/a>;<\/p>\n

When officers arrived, they found an unidentified 18-year-old with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to UMMC for medical treatment and has been listed in critical condition.<\/p>\n

Police also found a deceased black male inside the home. He also had multiple gunshot wounds to the body. <\/p>\n

A 7-year-old was found inside the home unharmed.<\/p>\n

After investigating, police believe this was a home invasion. Police believe the deceased male was the suspect of this burglary. Evidence shows that he was armed when he entered the home. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n

From Cedar Rapids, Iowa<\/a>;<\/p>\n

26-year-old Ethan Deyo was living in the home when the crime happened, police say he called them saying he shot a burglar inside his house. <\/p>\n

Police say 43-year-old Sherman Hopkins is charged with Kidnapping in the First Degree, Robbery in the First Degree and Burglary in the First Degree.
\nAccording to the criminal complaint Deyo went into a bedroom to try and get away from Hopkins after he came into his house but he forced his way into the bedroom. <\/p>\n

The complaint goes on to say Hopkins ordered Deyo to log in to his computer and transfer a domain name to a third party, that’s when Deyo grabbed the gun and a struggle began between the two. <\/p>\n

During the altercation the gun went off shooting Deyo in the foot, according to the complaint, that’s when Deyo grabbed the gun and shot Hopkins twice before calling police. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Hopkins went straight from the hospital to jail.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
