{"id":73213,"date":"2017-07-05T11:36:14","date_gmt":"2017-07-05T15:36:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/valorguardians.com\/blog\/?p=73213"},"modified":"2017-07-05T13:18:46","modified_gmt":"2017-07-05T17:18:46","slug":"haider-al-abadi-mission-accomplished","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/?p=73213","title":{"rendered":"Haider al-Abadi; mission accomplished"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi congratulated his troops for liberating Mosul from the bloody hands of ISIS in a press conference today, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yahoo.com\/news\/iraqi-pm-congratulates-troops-apos-204036908.html\">Associated Press<\/a>;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cPraise be to God, we managed to liberate (Mosul) and proved the others were wrong, the people of Mosul supported and stood with our security forces against terrorism,\u201d al-Abadi said.<\/p>\n<p>His remarks came on the third anniversary of IS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi\u2019s sermon at the al-Nuri Mosque, from where he declared an Islamic caliphate on IS-held lands in Syria and Iraq.<\/p>\n<p>Also during the press conference, al-Abadi added that he has given instructions to rebuild and stabilize areas of the city already freed from the militant group.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/International\/wireStory\/iraqi-commander-300-fighters-holed-mosul-48444330\">ABC News<\/a> reports that Iraq&#8217;s special forces commander, Lt. Gen. Sami al-Aridi, says that there are about three hundred ISIS fighters holed up in Mosul;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p> Iraqi forces moved to besiege the Old City before launching their attack in order to prevent IS fighters from fleeing to neighboring Syria, but al-Aridi said hundreds of militants still managed to escape from the Old City alone.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;They just shave their beards and walk out,&#8221; al-Aridi said. &#8220;Just yesterday we captured two among a group of women and children.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>According to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.iraqinews.com\/iraq-war\/snipers-secure-police-route-islamic-states-last-mosul-hideout-commander\/\">Iraqi News<\/a>, the commander also said that about 90% of the remaining ISIS fighters are foreigners and about a third are suicide bombers.
