However, Byrd said the remains won\u2019t be officially identified until they\u2019ve been analyzed at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe soldier will be brought to Hawaii [Thursday],\u201d he said. \u201cHe will undergo final analysis in our laboratory, and he will be identified shortly thereafter and returned home to his family.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Relatives will decide where they want the soldier to be buried, Byrd said.<\/p>\n<p>The remains were found March 30 near Daejeon, 90 miles south of Seoul, by a telecom worker installing cables under a road, said South Korea\u2019s Ministry of Defense Agency for KIA Recovery and Identification.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dpaa.mil\/Our-Missing\/Korean-War\/\">Defense POW\/MIA Accounting Agency<\/a> says more than 7800 Americans remain missing from the Korean War, they estimate that about 5300 are in North Korea.
